Welcome Message
Dear Executive Board Members and Friends,
We are pleased to inform you that the Taiwan General Contractors Association (TGCA) will be hosting the Mid-Term Executive Board Meeting of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Association (IFAWPCA) at the Grand Victoria Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan, from October 16 to 19, 2024.
For nearly seven decades, IFAWPCA has led the way in fostering the exchange of ideas, experiences, and technologies among its members and affiliates across diverse geographies and environment. As the host of the meeting, we have put forth our greatest efforts in preparing comprehensive program that will allow executive board members to exchange ideas, develop strategy and discuss possible collaborations. In the meantime, there will also be enjoyable social activities that enable you to renew old friendship and forge new ones.
At TGCA, we warmly invite you to visit Taiwan and immerse yourself in the rich culture and tradition while enjoying the genuine hospitality and enthusiasm of its people.
Sincerely,
President Chun-Jung Pan

About Taiwan General Contractors Association (TGCA)
The predecessor of Taiwan General Contractors Association (TGCA) was a group of local trade associations in various cities and counties in Taiwan. After the establishment of TGCA in 1948, these localtrade associations were transformed into local administrative offices, and TGCA became a national trade association. Following the robust growth of Taiwan's economy in the last five decades, there are now over 10,000 member companies registered with TGCA, with a total turnover exceeding NT$1 trillion (US$30 billion). Member companies are categorized into three levels based on their business scale: nearly 30% are Grade A Members, slightly more than 10% are Grade B Members, and the remaining approximately 60% are Grade C Members.
The objectives of TGCA's establishment focus on four aspects:
- Assist member companies in enhancing construction technology and management capabilities.
- Collaborate with the government to establish a fair and reasonable business environment for the construction industry.
- Promote awareness and implementation of corporate ESG, including addressing climate change within the construction industry.
- Promote process improvement and digitalization of the construction industry as a whole.
The organizational structure of TGCA places the General Assembly of Member Representatives as the highest authority. Member Representatives of TGCA are elected among representatives of member companies. These Member Representatives elect the Board of Directors and the Board of Supervisors, from which the Executive Directors are chosen. The Executive Directors then select one person to be the Chairman, who represents TGCA externally. The Secretariat is responsible for the execution of routine affairs and resolutions made by the Board of Directors.
To achieve its objectives, TGCA has established several committees, including the Legal Affairs Committee, Rights Promotion Committee, Industry Policy Committee, Technology Committee, Service Committee, Appraisal Committee, SME Contractors Committee, Cross-Strait and International Relations Committee, Human Resources Development Committee, and Youth Committee. The Secretariat of TGCA oversees 25 local offices to coordinate with local governments and serve local members.
TGCA is currently a Regular Member of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors' Associations.
